Call For Tests

Please check back to this page often!  We will be posting requests for tests that can be done by members of the e-NABLE Community.  Some will be appropriate for groups that can print prosthetic hands.  Some will test different brands of printers.  Some might be appropriate for entire classes to take on for semester projects.

To get us started, here is our first Call for Test!

1.  Call for Test:  Printer Capability Test

Who:  Appropriate for individual volunteers

What:  Print a specific file on your 3D printer in a material of your choosing

Where:  Any location that has a 3D printer

When:  Tests are welcome while we compile a database of printers in use in the materials used for 3D printing prosthetics.  This call will be closed when sufficient data is collected.  There is not and end date for this test.

How:  See the procedure at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VozkNncS3QtiFG3hP8CNXA7wc7vImRH_/view?usp=sharing

2. Call for Test:  Ability to Grip

Who:  Appropriate for individual/chapters who have a completely assembled hand.

What:  Test the hand’s ability to perform 24 standard grips.  24 common objects will be needed to perform these tests.  Data is still useful even if not all 24 grips are attempted.  Test is designed to be non-destructive though damage could occur in any test.

Where:  Any location

When:  Tests are welcome while we compile a list of the grips that the standard e-NABLE hands are able to perform.  This call will be closed when sufficient data is collected.  There is not and end date for this test.
